Craig J. Cantoni

Craig J. Cantoni is an author, public speaker and president of Capstone Consulting Group of Scottsdale, Arizona, a firm that specializes in developing people, teams and organizations.

Assignments have been completed for private and public sector organizations of all sizes and industries.

Prior to founding Capstone, Craig held executive positions in operations and human resources for leading companies, including the $12 billion Mars, Inc., which is one of the few In Search of Excellence companies still considered an excellent company.

As a provocative author, Craig is a regular contributor to the The Wall Street Journal and The American Compensation Association Journal, and has written for the Compensation and Benefits Review Journal, Investment Profiles, The Indianapolis Star, The Arizona Republic, The Arizona Business Gazette, and other publications. His latest book is Corporate Dandelions: How the Weed of Bureaucracy Is Choking American Business and What You Can Do to Uproot It (New York: AMACOM Books, 1993). He and a co-author are writing a new book on the reasons why smart companies believe dumb ideas.

Craig has been covered by The New York Times, USA Today, Business Week, Smart Money, ABC Network News, US News & World Report, CNBC and national radio networks.

In his fight against government bureaucracy, Craig was the president of a 5,000-member community-action group in the New York area. He convinced twelve members of the New Jersey congressional delegation, including Senators Bradley and Lautenberg, to testify with him on Capitol Hill. His efforts were recognized by a major New Jersey newspaper, which named him "Volunteer of the Year."

He continues his political action today as the co-founder of a health care reform coalition, which is seeking free-market approaches to solving the problems of the uninsured and the nation's skyrocketing cost of medical care. He recently held a health care conference with Steve Forbes as keynote speaker.

Craig is a popular keynote speaker across the country on a variety of subjects for both business and non-business audiences.

A "Distinguished Military Graduate" and ex-Army Captain, he holds an MBA from St. Mary's University. His wife Kim is a human resources professional, and his son Christopher attends school in Scottsdale, where the family resides.
